Washington Scholars Program

The Washington Scholars Program was developed to provide the benefits of a Washington College education to students who may not otherwise have the opportunity because of substantial financial need. Washington Scholars receive full tuition and fees, as well as room and board. While relieving financial concerns is a major benefit, the College recognizes that there is more to a transformative college experience than financial resources; hence, Washington Scholars is a program, not merely a scholarship.

The Washington Scholars Program provides students with a sense of community as they traverse their four-year journey from Washington College student to esteemed alumni. Intentional programming, cultural excursions, mentorship, and workshops are just a few of the many benefits that Washington Scholars enjoy.

Washington College seeks high-performing Maryland students who are passionate about and dedicated to their academic and extracurricular pursuits. Beyond academic achievement, successful applicants will have demonstrated a willingness to continue to grow and to help shape the future of the College into a richer experience for all students.

Prospective Washington Scholars must be nominated by their high school counselors, community-based organization leaders, teachers, or their admissions counselors in order to be considered. All nominated students must reside in Maryland. Students selected to interview for the scholarship will be invited to campus for an academic experience, campus tours and lunch, as well as the interview.
